The Call of the Summit for Brass Quintet (Marlatt)

The Call of the Summit is a heroic and stately piece which uses call and response between a solo trumpet and the remainder of the ensemble to establish “the call”. With simple rhythms and limited range, this work makes an excellent first piece for a brass quintet. Besides featuring a trumpet player, the low voices get a turn with the melody as well. Includes a score and parts for 2 Bb trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba.
