The Great Jingle Bell Chase conjures images of Santa Claus running behind on Christmas Eve and desperately trying to deliver all the presents before the sun comes up on Christmas morning! After a harrowing night Santa finally can see the light at the end of the tunnel and starts to sing praises of Hallelujah! The Great Jingle Bell Chase is a combination of Jingle Bells at the beginning and The Hallelujah Chorus at the end. Fast paced and furious The Great Jingle Bell Chase is a high energy piece that will leave you out of breath!
It opens like an old silent movie or vaudeville chase scene. Percussion parts are optional but really add a lot to the chase feel of the piece, especially the snare on rim at measure 43. Be careful to balance both of the Jingle Bell themes and the Hallelujah Chorus theme beginning at measure 43. At measure 97 it's all Hallelujah Chorus to the end!
