February 2, 2011 Toronto – Opening Day Entertainment Group is pleased to announce their Juno nomination for Instrumental Album of the Year for the album Spirit Dance, featuring pianist David Braid and Canadian Brass.

Spirit Dance (ODR 7383), released November 9, 2010, is an album of original works by pianist David Braid. Written for piano and brass, it is freshly inventive - full of delightful melodies and rhythmic movement. Braid has created an array of new sounds that are intimate, spontaneous and warm. Inspired by everything from whirling dervishes to Chopin’s Nocturnes to a walk in Beijing, Spirit Dance is an exceptional fusion of jazz and classical aesthetics.

The Juno Awards – Canada’s Music Awards – are presented annually to Canadian musical artists to acknowledge their artistic and technical achievements in all aspects of music. Winners are currently chosen by members of the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS). The 2011 Awards honors outstanding albums released in 2010. The award ceremony will be held in Toronto on March 27th.
