An icon in the Canadian music scene, we came to regard Howard Cable as the “Mozart of Canada.” Howard had a fantastic ability to conceive a work in his head and simply write out the parts, very much like the legendary ability of Mozart. Howard wrote so many different styles of music for us in the early years that set us apart from all other early efforts to put a brass quintet on main stages. Our work with choirs, creating a Christmas repertoire, standout solos for us individually within the quintet context and a sting of showpieces made our performing path possible.
