Timeless Masterpieces

Welcome to our Download Site featuring six very special classical compositions for brass instruments.

The first work, Damigella tutta bella features the music of the great transitional composer, Claudio Monteverdi, bridging the time periods between the Renaissance and Baroque eras. Caleb Hudson has created a traditional arrangement of this vocal work for brass but then included one of the voice stanzas to be sung by the three upper instrumentalists.

Johann Sebastian Bach is a constant companion of brass players, so it is with great admiration of his music that we included three important Bach works. The Siciliano, a title itself representing the style of the solo, features the beautiful ease of trombone as solo instrument, approximating the beauty of the human voice. Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring is the most requested song in Germany, its birthplace. This version gives the brass both the solo ensemble and choir musical duties.

And the Badinerie is a solo associated with flute, here presented in a virtuosic performance by Caleb on piccolo trumpet.

Baroque composer Marc-Antoine Charpentier produced this technical showpiece Entrée des Nymphes et des Bergers as an interlude in his opera La descente d’Orphee aux enfers. Fast and furious, this work displays the incredible technical expertise of our trumpeters. Completing this short journey of showpieces, Brass instruments in all their glory are heard in the performance of Scherzo by Johannes Brahms. Brandon has deftly reworked this masterpiece for eight brass players and timpani which at times creates the sound of a much larger orchestra of instruments.
